Welcome to a slightly different blog… From now on Ali will be writing a purely climbing blog and I’ll be covering the “other stuff”. So if you want the beta on his latest crushes click HERE, or read on for the more fluffy stuff from our travels and non climbing life...

We had an early start the following day (6am) in order to avoid the midday sun and the predicted afternoon thunderstorms. The one and only route up this face ('Deja vu') goes directly up from where Tash is and follows the flake crack up the centre of the wall.

After what felt like a 'hard-for-the-grade' 6c+ first pitch with a thin bridging crux you get to the meat of the route - this mighty 2 pitch flake (7a/+) starting with laybacks and handjams and narrowing down to perfect fingerlocks with poor feet (crux) at the end of the 3rd pitch. One of the best routes around and a Pyrenean must-do, despite its isolated location.

A few easy abs and we were down by 11am!

And back to the tent to sit out the forecasted storms. In the end they didn't hit until about 2am but when they arrived they were BIG and scary and very close and went on for hours so we didn't get much sleep!
